WELCOME to Maspalomas de Gran Canaria and the
1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005!

We informed the teams about your participation in Maspalomas de Gran Canaria in the 1 st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005. Each group should use the enclosed registration form to register. The participants list and lists information on the entire group, has to be filled in completely and be sent together with the registration form to the OC 1 st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 before October, 1 st 2005. The number of participants may only be changed until this deadline.

Confirmation of the interest

Delegates of the national federations have been asked by the OC 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria for their interest to participate and 14 nations participated in the information meeting in Maspalomas from the 27th. till 28th of november 2004.

The OC 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria has printed more than 6.000 Flyers and distributed to all 46 UEG member Federations.

Preliminary Inscription
Preliminary inscription, on the officcial forms, must be received by the Organising Committee no later than April,1st 2005. 22 nations, 53 groups and more than 1.100 gymnasts of the national federations have confirmed their Pre-Registration.

Definitive Inscription

Definitive Inscription forms and the participation fee must have been received by the Organising Committee by October, 1st 2005.
In May 2005 the Bulletin Nr. 2 and the final entry form is distributed to the UEG member federations. There you can find the details about participation, accommodation, flights and workshops.

Accreditation card

The OC 1st Golden Age Gym Festival is offering 3 kinds of pass for group members, attendants and delegation leaders:

Pass 1. The basic festival fee amounts to 65 € per person. The accreditation card will cover the following expenses:

  • Free entrance to all events and workshops
  • Free transport accommodation – event – accommodation
  • Possibility for training activities

Pass 2. The pass 2 costs (bungalow 5 persons) for the accomodation costs and the accreditation card is 200 € per person.

  • Pass 1
  • 6 nights in bungalow for 5 persons, including breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Free entrance to all events and workshops
  • Free transport accommodation – event – accommodation
  • Possibility for training activities

Pass 3. The pass 3 costs (hotel *** for double room + 1 supplementary bed; 3 persons) for the accomodation costs and the accreditation card is 265 € per person.

  • Pass 1
  • 6 nights in hotel *** for 3 persons, including breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Free entrance to all events and workshops
  • Free transport accommodation – event – accommodation
  • Possibility for training activities

Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner starting from dinner Sunday night November the 20th until Saturday morning November 26th, 2005.

The groups have to cover their own travel expenses to and from Maspalomas. The groups are responsible for obtaining visas for their members if required under spanish visa regulations in order to ensure smooth inmigration procedures. All group members must be in possession of adequate health insurance. The Organising Committee will present an offer for a centralised health insurance in the inscription bulletin.

 

Arrival
By arrival with the airplane the special bus service from OC 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria will take your team to the accommodation. Communicate with the festival office upon arrival. The Sportsfestival Office 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria will be placed at the Shopping Center Jumbo in Playa del Ingles.

At the 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria office, the team leaders will get an envelope containing all information, about accommodation, participation certification, ordered tickets, festival program and maps from Maspalomas. Every team has to drop by the festival office to be registered.

Conditions of participation

•  The 1 st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 is a meeting for the 50plus age group offering a wide range of sports, social and cultural activities.

•  Gymnasts from groups or clubs belonging to the UEG member federations are eligible for participation.

•  Participation requires the agreement of the national federation, which is also responsible for the final registration of groups from their country to the OC Golden Age 2005.

•  If a UEG member federation is not active, groups can send their final registration straight to the OC Golden Age 2005, but they shall inform their national federation.

•  All groups are expected to take an active part in the programme and shape the week's events by contributing with their own performances and in cultural events.

•  All groups are represented by their group leaders during the entire stay.

 

Performance Areas

Plaza de Maspalomas

Centro Comercial Yumbo

Each team shall performed at least one time in Plaza de Maspalomas. The registered groups will perform twice during the 1 st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005.

These performances will happen everyday late in the afternoon (19:30H). The group performances should last a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes each, including time for preparing the stage. Sound equipment, including a microphone and CD and cassette players, will be provided on both areas.

All the exhibitions will take place in the shopping centres of Playa del Ingles:

Festival Office
Is situated in the Beverly Park Hotel in Playa del Ingles. Through the festival office 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2005 Maspalomas in Gran Canaria you can leave messages to the participants if this is necessary.
In the Festival Office the participants can buy souvenirs, post letters and postcards, get information about what is going in the festival at any time and information about the leisure programme.
Team leader meeting
In order to keep the team leaders oriented in the best possible way about the festival and what is being expected from the participants, we ask all the teamleaders to meet on sunday, 20th november 2005 at 16:00 PM in the festival office at the Beverly Park Hotel. We require that all the team leaders will meet every day from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Sportshall San Fernando.
